1.      Choose wisely: There are so many options available these days, but don’t get sucked in by advertising. Instead, choose something that matches your skin type. You might need full coverage or less, and you might want to go for a dewy finish if you have dry skin or a matte finish if your skin is oily. Make sure it is the right colour too.

2.     Create a base: Make sure to exfoliate and moisturize your skin regularly. If using moisturiser, wait 10 minutes and let in sink in before applying your foundation. Alternatively, you can use a primer which mattifies your skin and helps foundation last all day.

3.     Select your tool: You could use a brush, a sponge or your fingers for applying foundation. There are perks to all of them, but ultimately it is trial and error. Try everything out and see what works for you best.

4.      Less is more: You do not need to apply foundation on your whole face if is the right colour match. Put a small amount on the places that need it and blend outwards. You can always add more, but it is harder to take off when it starts looking cakey.

5.  Finish with your powder: Depending on your skin type, you can go with a matte powder or an illuminating powder. This helps to lock in your foundation and prevent it from sliding off easily. It also creates a great finish.
